Underground Adventure Tour

Gear up in overalls, boots, miner’s hat and lamp. Climb ladders, work a mine drill and search for gold with finders keepers!

Descending to the third level of the mine, 85 metres underground, you will be mesmerised by the lure of gold and the stronghold that it had over people as you explore the underground tunnels, drifts and stope workings that still contain gold veins.

This tour also includes a traditional ‘miner’s lunch’ served in the Underground Function Room where you will get a delicious taste of what life was like working underground.

Afterwards, explore the surface of the mine with its treasure trove of vintage mining machinery, gold panning and interpretive museums.

Tour Duration: 2.5 hours

Tour Depth: 85 metres underground to Level 3

Access: Via an industrial lift to Level 2, then climbing 6 sets of 4 metre ladders down to Level 3 and back up again to Level 2

Fitness: Medium, ladder climbing is involved

Age Limit: 8 years and over

Tour Times: 11:00am and 2:00pm daily

• Everyone who takes part in this tour is required to wear a hardhat at all times
• Overalls and boots are supplied
